And even more luck...

I found my leather to redo my Imp Officer belt (my current belt is 1.5" and it needs to be 2) and netting for my Padme and a wig for A. and better washers for my greeblies.

I am finally at the stage I can do the final sewing on my Imp uniform :) The skirts are finally sitting ok over my hips (they are longer in back and have quite a pronounced curve at the waist) I also unpicked the vertical seams in the front to nudge the pockets in line and this has had the added benefit of being able to adjust the pull on the fabric there.
I got the aluminium cut as well as buckle cover, so I am looking at options for sticking it to the belt and for switches for my rank bar.

So tomorrow I shall trim the lining to fit, hunt out the shoulder pads, felt and canvas and start assembling all the layers.

I also sorted my Mara and Padme project baggies.

Woot!

Firstly I found leather for my Mara belt and holster. I have now cut the belts and will wait for a gun prop to make the holster. But yay!

Secondly I found my pants fabric :) I wear certain tousers every day and I finally found a roll of the fabric they are made from. So I now have enough to make some more :)

Thirdly I found some nice satin. And because the two pieces were ends of the rolls I got 30% off ;)

So I have had a good if expensive day;)

I also cut the pants for my Officer uniform and found my other shoulder pad ;) I think I just managed to loose the first one again now due to a bit of rearranging.. oops. Still I can use it as a rough guide for my canvas and felt bases :)
Oh and sleeves. I got sleeves cut too :) Now to wash my lining fabric so I can cut that before I start the basting and sewing in of interfacings :)

Whee! I have just decoloured my satin charmeause (which was going to be used for my Ever After but it stayed a shell pink... until today) and am just about done decolouring my cotton twill. It was a great price $NZ 3.50/m but in the shop it looked off white. in reality? Mint green. So I have cut enough for my corset and it is now a lovely off white colour for real ;)

Now to spin them in the machine and hang them out to dry. Then I can unpick my skirt and flatline the charmeause to it. Now I'm thinking I may hunt out dead sheep or cow at Save Mart (recycling something recycled) rather than the dead dino for the corset and gauntlets... hmmmm.

Last night I got my buckram, cotton and Heat 'n' Bon sorted and I now have a very stable necklace base :)

Also, I may have a whip for my catwoman costume now. i may have managed a couple of good loud cracks with it in the lounge even ;) I may just start more rumours amongst the neighbours and get practicing outside ;) It rally is all in the wrist which is where it gets tricky ;)

So the petticoat is now overlocked into the final shape and it drapes much better than it did when I just had it all pinned ;) The folds are much more fluid looking :)
Now I am unpicking my satin to get it to the right shape.

Phew! I just recut my skirt pattern from my cotton sateen (I think I'll use this for the underlayer so to keep a little cooler, I will be using netting and more cotton for the petticoat support.) Luckily even with the extra seam alowance and extra length and depth of godets it still fits in my length of fabric! Fantastic :) I may just overlock the skirt together so I can then work out just how much I need for the overlayer as I do not need as much seam allowance or hem turnings. The hem of the underskirt is quite deep on the original and appears to be padded while the overlayer has a 1/2: turnover. I'm debating making this a double or single turning. Probably double if I can press it easily.

And there should still be enough left over to make a matching bodice if I am creative with piecing :

If anyone is after fabric for a Pre Senate Kimono I have some. Ideal colour (tends more to grey than lilac) though a taffeta (the original is a shantung I believe due to the slubs across the fabric). I have about 6m of it at 150cm wide (about 6.5yards at 60" wide) if anyone wants it. I love this costume but Natalie was like 14 when she wore it and I'm... not ;)

I also have some fabric which would be great for a Sabe battle decoy, the black textured fabric anyway. Noone is getting their mitts on my red silk ;) If overdyed (it's a darkish blue now) it would look great. I think I have 3m of it.

And I have a whole pile of other fabrics which I may get photos of as well, stuff that I got for in case but never actually used.

First photo of the Santa parade I've seen so far :) Well of our group ;) Had someone shout that they knew me from the side of the road.

Hurrah! EVen though it's a busy time with the RL I got my Padme approved in less than 24 hours :) Bravo to those hardy souls who do the work to look through all the photos and make pretty image alterations :)

Now I really need to look at colouring my hair again. I suit dark hair better really.

So I hope the other photos turn out better ;) I'm not photogenic at all and it takes a fair bit of care with lighting and angles.

She's done. Padme is done. I have stamped the design and the headdress is drying and will be nicely ready in the morning.

There is a reason for being ready tomorrow. Can't say just yet but it's pretty cool :) Except I'm feeling really nervous.

Headdress templates work. So I'll be posting them soon. Probably after Geddon unless anyone would like them sooner ;) I think my plan for cutting the pieces from sintra will work really well for later on. I can sand and round the edges more than I can with what I am currently working with. But I couldn't cut and piece it all in time.

Headdress is being glued. This is a stop gap prop and will be remade later. Should still look nice.

I just got my headdress template glued up. If they work out I'll be posting the files so people can have at least an easier start to that aspect as well. My dress patterns... I think I'll keep just posting them to poeple I know can be trusted to use them properly ;)

I don't think I need to add how annoying it is seeing my waterfall drapery pattern used all over the place and *no one* crediting me. It's all "I figured it out". No, no you didn't- you used my guide! I can tell because you have the same number of pleats and the same flare as I have in my pattern!

So after forgetting my phone I then had no power for a while and now am running on empty with the credit. oops.

Very tired. Was the only one at the store today in costume. Now my Light Blue is not likely to get another airing for a while as I need to focus on the Masque. I got another couple of speeches nearly down, I will go over them tomorrow and then they will be set.
